National Capital Federal Credit Union was chartered in 1949. Since that time, the field of membership has expanded to include many employee groups and family members. But the mission has remained the same... to provide quality, confidential personalized services to meet the financial needs of members while maintaining safety, soundness and financial stability. Unlike other financial institutions, credit unions are owned and controlled by the members who do business with them. Credit unions are also not-for-profit cooperatives. There are no outside stockholder dividends to consider when making strategic decisions and no paid boards of directors. The same is true at NCFCU! All of your Credit Union's excess earnings are returned to members in the form of lower interest rates on loans and higher dividend rates on deposits.

As a member of this Credit Union, you can influence and control the direction that the Credit Union takes. The all volunteer Board of Directors is democratically elected by the membership, and each member is entitled to one vote regardless of the amount on deposit.
